College of Engineering Guindy (CEG) Hostels was established to render outstanding services for the welfare of students. The Hostel not only believes in transparent administration but also in establishing sound systems and procedures and implementation of the same to achieve the goal. Over the period of time, the CEG Hostels has established such systems, procedures and rules for an effective administration. The CEG Hostels is established for the welfare of the students and is under the direct control of the Institution. CEG Hostels comprises of 22 blocks (located at CEG Campus), out of which boys are accommodated in 14 Blocks and Girls in 8 Blocks. All the blocks are named as the Tamil flowers name in India. In addition to this, all the hostel blocks provide the green environment, surrounded by the trees where it provides the peaceful and friendly environment to the students, along with the peaceful chirping of birds. The overall supervision of the CEG hostel management consists of Warden, Executive warden and Deputy wardens who are the faculty members of the College of Engineering Guindy across various departments. The Hostel office is functioning with the office staff, where executive warden will head the administration of the hostel related activities. Apart from this, hostel council consists of Warden, Executive warden, Deputy block warden, Resident Counsellors, Student chairman and block secretaries from all the blocks to take a look into various hostel related issues. For each mess, the mess secretary, mess provision in-charge is elected by the students will ensure the proper maintenance of the mess and other mess related activities like cleanliness, hygiene in mess hall and surroundings.

Greetings! It’s my great pleasure to welcome all the College of Engineering Guindy hostel residents to CEG Hostel, where we provide the best facilities and homely environment for you throughout the CEG life. We strive to nurture and rebuild an atmosphere where every student feels welcome home vibe at the hostel. In a day’s course a student spends only two fold times more occasional stay at the hostel than the classroom premises, for which we extent a worry-free environment to enable them on concentrating their studies to attain the successful carrier in their life. The natural beauty of our hostel campus is fully surrounded by the trees which give the pleasant and green pollution free environment for the students to develop their academic life in a healthy way.
The CEG Hostels provides the facilities to the students with uninterrupted power supply, Wi-Fi, laundry, student amenities centre, coffee hut, smart projector hall, medical support, gym, library for hostel students, comfortable study rooms, quality food and the freedom to roam the green campus. As a part of green initiative and to reduce the energy dependence, we have a biogas plant running in the Mega mess for cooking purposes as a modern form energy which can be produced from the food and vegetable wastages.
As a Dean and Warden, I would like to encourage all the students to participate various technical and cultural activities inorder to develop and enhance the talents in the various fields. There are plenty of student’s clubs such as NSS, NCC, Rotaract, sirtuthuligal, mathavam, Green Brigade, CEG Tech form, Robotics club, Literary Clubs, Arts society, student association etc. are available to showcase the student talents.
We strive to provide a platform that enables student to concentrate fully on the academics and extra-curricular activities. To enable this, we provide the environment with the complete freedom on their choices and decisions, with the goal of providing the best for the hostelers. Resident counsellor stands the loco parentis in all the hostel blocks, inorder to ensure the students safety inside the hostel campus. I would like to inform all the students to strictly adhere the rules and regulations of the CEG hostels, since our campus is pollution free, students are anticipated to maintain the green and clean principles. Alcohol and Tobacco are strictly not allowed inside the campus and ragging is completely prohibited inside the campus. Strict disciplinary action will be taken, if anybody found indulging in these kinds of activities.

My greetings to all the CEG hostel students and it’s my pleasure to welcome you all to be a part of CEG family. In our endeavor to provide our students safety, healthy green and homely environment we emphasize and encourage self-discipline: the key virtue for their continued success in their life at CEG and beyond. Hostel life is a merger of students from the various discipline, cultures across the various places and provides the rich abundance and memorable experience in their studies and life. We provide an pleasant environment where they can enjoy, learn and live to the extent. Resident counsellors stands loco parentis in the all hostel blocks to employ the Fairness and Firmness and also with Frankness and Fondness.
Hostel infrastructure is fastened with amenities like continuous power supply, purified water availability, Wi-Fi connectivity, library for hostel students, health centre and ambulance service, comfortable rooms clean toilets, periodic disinfection of building, mess with varieties of nutritious menu, smart projector hall for preparing mock presentation, well-equipped gym, shuttle court, student amenities centre, laundry facility and coffee shop.
We invite and encourage our students to interact and participate in many inter and intra college technical, cultural and social activities round the year. CEG offers various “Student Clubs” specifically in CEG Tech Forum, Arts Society, Student Association, Literary Clubs, etc. to hone their talent. These clubs are actively mentored by our revered faculty and alumni. There are numerous events organized by these clubs to showcase the student talents throughout the academic year.
As part of Green Environment, CEG campus is maintained pollution free and plastic free. Students are expected to adhere to the Green and Clean principles. I like to remind once again that Alcohol and Tobacco are strictly forbidden in the campus and ragging is a punishable offence. Violation in these regard will incur very strict disciplinary action. Living in a CEG hostel entails the high degree of integrity with harmony in self, family, nation and nature. I am sure you will live with pleasant green environment up to the standards of this institution and uphold CEG tradition, reputation and decorum of our institution.Being part of this diverse, multi-cultural, inclusive and harmonious environment, I am sure the students will grow up to be responsible, caring and progressive citizens.
